A Fire TV Stick is one of the simplest devices for watching internet television. It plugs into the HDMI port of your TV and works over Wi-Fi. This guide shows how to install an IPTV app from scratch, without a technician and without a computer. The whole process usually takes about ten minutes.
What you need
Prepare four things before you start:
- A Fire TV Stick connected to your TV and to the internet.
- An Amazon account signed in on the device, so you can download an app from the official store.
- Your IPTV login details, sent by e-mail: username, password and server address.
- About 200 MB of free storage on the device.
If you do not have login details yet, you can request a free trial on the home page.
Step 1: install the Downloader app
Most IPTV apps are not in the Amazon store, so you need a tool that downloads files from an internet address.
- On the home screen choose the magnifying glass icon.
- Type Downloader.
- Choose the Downloader app and click Get or Download.
Wait for the installation to finish, but do not open it yet.
Step 2: allow installing from unknown sources
By default Fire TV blocks apps from outside the Amazon store. You only need to change this for the Downloader app.
- Open Settings, then My Fire TV.
- Choose Developer options.
- Click Install unknown apps and set the Downloader app to On.
Cannot see developer options? Open Settings, My Fire TV, About and click the device name seven times. Developer options will appear in the menu. On newer system versions the setting may also appear as Install unknown apps directly in the My Fire TV menu.
Step 3: download the IPTV app
- Open Downloader and allow it to access files.
- In the address field enter the code or address of the IPTV app given by your provider. The current code is in our setup guide.
- Click Go. The file downloads automatically.
- When the installation window appears, choose Install, then Done when it finishes.
Downloader will ask whether to delete the installation file. Choose Delete to free up space.
Step 4: log in to the service
Open the installed app. Choose the option to log in with your details, usually called Xtream Codes or Login with Xtream Codes API, and enter:
- Name: anything you like, for example Living room.
- Username and password: exactly as in your e-mail.
- Server address: the whole address from the e-mail, including the start
http://orhttps://.
Confirm and wait for the app to load the channel list. The first time this can take a few dozen seconds.
Step 5: turn off unknown sources
When everything works, return to Developer options and switch off Install unknown apps for Downloader. This is an extra safeguard against installing other files by accident.
Common problems
The app will not install. Check the free storage. Free some by removing unused apps in Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications.
Login does not work. Typos are the most common cause. Check that you did not add a space at the start or end when copying, and that the username and password match in upper and lower case.
The channel list does not load. Check your internet connection in Settings, Network. If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, move the router closer or use an Ethernet adapter.

Safety
Install apps only from addresses given by your provider and check the address before you confirm it. Never enter your IPTV login details in apps you know nothing about.
